homoism:

One of many terms proposed proposed in the 1960s as a substitute for homosexuality because of the pejorative or negative connotations attached to that word. Homoism, like homosexuality , is etymologically ambiguous since homo means same as in Greek or man in Latin thus excluding women. It never caught on .
