Defined by Rosalie Maggio in The Dictionary of Bias-Free Usage (1991): ' Language that carries no cultural bias toward one sex or the other is nonsexist. It may or may not contain sex-specific words. "Irishwoman and Irishmen" is sex-specific but nonsexist .'
