In Roman antiquity, a daisy-chain (a group of men engaged in sodomy) which Sueronius, the 2 nd century biographer, defined as ' men joined front to back in sexual-union .' Tiberius introduced the spintra at his orgies as entertainment for his guests; the purpose was to see how many men could copulate anally in unison before the chain broke.
Etymology: From spado a castrated eunuch .
