An inflammation of the cervix commonly caused by bacteria or viruses, usually transmitted by sexual contact by such infections are gonorrhea , genital-herpes , chlamydia , and genital-warts . Cervicitis caused by bacterial or viral infection is treated with antibiotics or antiviral medications.
