Harlan Ellison notes in his 1972 introduction in Again, Dangerous Visions that "as this is the first time (to my knowledge)... that the word fuck has been used in a title, it becomes something of a minor literary landmark... sum of comment: nice title".' There was a reply by bitcraft: 'In the story, Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. describes the launching of the spaceship Arthur C. Clarke, filled to the brim with jizzum. At the time of the launching, jizzum is the last remaining dirty word in the English language.'
